HOUSE FIRE

October 11, 2024

On Friday, October 11, 2024 at 17:42 hours the Ellendale Fire Co. was alerted a residential structure fire in the 15000 block of S. Union Church Road in Ellendale.
Engine 3 responded with a crew of six within 90 seconds of dispatch, followed by Tanker 4 and Engine/Tanker 8 with a crew of four 30 seconds later.
Crews arrived on location to find fire showing from the home. Engine 3 advanced an attack line into the front of the residence and began an interior attack. Tanker 4 arrived and established a water supply to the attack engine. Engine/Tanker 8 supplemented the water supply while advancing a second attack line and beginning the primary search of the residence.
Mutual aid partners from Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company and Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. arrived quickly and assisted with fire attack, search, and overhaul.
Units remained on scene for approximately 1 hour. No injuries occurred to firefighters or civilians, the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.
