On Monday, August 4, 2008, at about 17:00 hrs, Ellendale Fire Co. invited Memorial Fire Co. to participate in a mock motor vehicle accident drill preplanned by Kyle Perry and Jay Jones. The drill consisted of a mock motor vehicle accident with 3 cars donated by Fitzgerald’s Auto Salvage and 5 Victims from friends and family of the volunteers of Ellendale and Memorial Fire Companies. The incident was under the command of Ellendale Fire Co. Fire Chief Howard Crew Jr. once dispatched by EOC. Both companies and Sussex County Paramedics worked hand in hand with one another.The drill was a great experience for strengthening knowledge in rescue efforts in vehicle extrication, enhancing patient care, and building healthier relationships with surrounding organizations.
