Ellendale Members participated in a class discussing air track management and flow paths. Since building construction and home contents have changed, furniture has become more flammable and combustible. The days of having wood and natural fibers are long gone. Today's contents and building materials are affecting fire behavior differently than 20-30 years ago. Discussions on fire tactics, ventilating vs. coordinated ventilation, and different scenarios took place during our training night. A wood "Doll-house" like prop was used to discuss smoke conditions, fire involvement, and air management and flow paths. The prop was able to simulate flashover and backdrafts. Thank you to Delaware State Fire School for your instruction.
