From Sussex County Post Millsboro man dies from injuries sustained in crash

ELLENDALE – The Delaware State Police Monday were continuing their investigation into a crash south of Ellendale that killed a Millsboro man Saturday night.

Kenneth O. Grinnell, 63, died at Christiana Medical Center Monday morning from injuries sustained in the single-vehicle accident that occurred April 6 at about 10:30 p.m., state police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier said. Investigation revealed Mr. Grinnell was operating a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on U.S. 113 just north of McColleys Chapel Road when the vehicle left the west side of the roadway. The vehicle re-entered the roadway and then swerved back to the right before leaving roadway where it struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to rotate in a clockwise manner and continue southbound where it struck a ditch and became airborne before coming to a stop, Cpl. Fournier said. Police said Mr. Grinnell, who was not properly restrained, was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. He was initially transported to Milford Memorial Hospital before being flown to Christiana.
